UN Plus seeks to be a transparent and accountable association of staff members. It established a group of Advisory Committee Members to be able to oversee its strategic plan and delivery.

Chairperson-   West and Central Africa

helene.jpgHELEN BADINI is the Social Mobilization and GIPA Regional Adviser for UNAIDS in Dakar, Senegal. She has qualifications in the social sciences and has a wealth of experience in dealing with civil society, government and other strategic partners of the UN. Helen has been actively involved in the work of PLHIVs for a number of years now both at a professional and on a personal front. She is a mother of three.

  

Member - Southern and Eastern Africa

kandiero.jpgSIPHIWE KANDIERO is a leading member of UN+ in Malawi. She works as the Executive Associate of the UN Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Programme, Resident Representative in Malawi. Siphiwe has been with the UNDP in Malawi for 5 years, she has qualifications in secretarial studies and is currently studying marketing. Siphiwe has worked with an Audit firm and Investment Promotion Agency before joining the UN 5 years ago. Siphiwe has used her excellent interpersonal and organizational skills in setting up UN+ in Malawi. She is a mother of two.

Member - West and Central Africa

mziray.jpgEMMANUEL MZIRAY is the GIPA Advisor for UNAIDS, Tanzania. In 2004 he received the Letten Foundation Award from Letten Norway and Medicine Sans Frontier Spain for `` Courageous Leadership`` in recognition of his role in the reduction of stigma and discrimination in his community. He is also the founder of the support group called Never Lose Hope based in Dar-es-salam, Tanzania. Emmanuel has been living with HIV for 13 years now.

Member - Southern and Eastern Africa

Ms. Sinyei is currently undertaking a masters degree in counselling with the University of Manchester, UK. She has a Higher Diploma in Counselling (degree equivalent), finalizing Graduate Diploma in Supply & Management (degree equivalent), Diploma in Business Education and a Diploma in Supply & Management.

Since 1999, Jane has actively been involved in the implementation of HIV/AIDS in the workplace, not only in UNICEF Somalia but other offices as well. She was part of the small group that came up with the first the ten minimum standards and managers guidance notes for the implementation of HIV/AIDS in the workplace in UNICEF and UNFPA globally. She is part of the Kenya UN Learning Team in her capacity as a PLWHA as well as a member of Somalia UN Learning Team. She has undertaken the HIV/AIDS Facilitators training. She is currently coordinating the UN+ in Kenya activities.

Member - Latin America and Caribbean

sirois.jpgROMAIN SIROIS is currently a member of the WFP Professional Staff Association Staff Council. Romain has also participated in the FAO/WFP Working Group on Domestic Partnerships in 2004 and 2005. He has a multidisciplinary background in development studies, Latin American Studies and Spanish. He has had extensive work experience in Africa, in Eastern Europe and Latin America, having worked for WFP since 1989. He has held various position from Food Monitor to Officer-in-charge of country offices and sub-offices.

Member- North Africa and Middle East

colette.jpgCOLETTE MUKAMUSONI is from Rwanda. After the Rwandan Genocide in 1994, she worked in several NGOs for vulnerable refugees in RDC. Now she works for WFP Rwanda where she has been awarded in 2003 by WFP-Rome for spreading the testimony on HIV/AIDS in the World. Since her knowledge on her HIV positive status, she lives positively and with other UN staff, she talks openly about how HIV and AIDS affects them at work and at home through a 20 minute UN film produced for the benefit of staff.

Member - South Asia

rajendra.jpgRAJENDRA SHIRKE is Programme Assistant in the HIV and Development Unit of UNDP, New Delhi, India. He has some experience of working in the hotel industry, and in non-governmental organization. Prior to joining the UN he was involved in the founding of the Indian Network for People living with HIV and AIDS as well as the Maharashtra Network of Positive People, now NMP+-which is the first PLHIV network in the state. He has strong advocacy and media relations skills and has worked closely with many national leaders and participated in a number of local and international initiatives. Notable was his involvement in an MTV live concert for PLHIVs in Mumbai. Rajendra has been living with HIV for 15 years now.

Member - Western Europe

Paul Morejon is from Ecuador.  He currently works within the Human Resources section of UNAIDS, Geneva. 

Member- Eastern Europe

Anastasia Kamlyk works with UNDP-Russia as a Partnerships Officer. 

The UNplus Global Coordinator is an ex-officio member of the group.
